Holy Ring Obsession | Malibu Wedding Photographer

While sit here on the computer editing photos and prepping my blog for at least 4 more posts this week (crazy) I realized I must have had an obsession with this wedding ring. As I went through my edits for David and Stephanie's wedding it was clear I must have loved her ring because I took so many images of it!  So here are few of those images as a teaser before I blog their wedding!
David you are a lucky guy; Stephanie is sweet and beautiful.  Stephanie you are a lucky gal; you can tell David put his heart into getting this ring for you!
Congrats David and Stephanie!

Published in Eco-Beautiful Magazine | Eco-Hippy Chic Bridal Shoot | Long Beach Wedding Styling Photography

So here is something I have been sitting on since October 2010!
We have been published by the fabulous Eco-Beautiful Magazine!
I love Eco-Beautiful; Katie has such an amazing eye and sense of style!

This shoot all started from a vintage wedding dress I found in Santa Barbara at the Yellowstone Clothing Boutique.
I was completely inspired by this dress and I had to have a shoot with it!
I gathered my gals from the Long Beach Wedding Collective and asked if they would be interested in contributing in a styled shoot coming from the inspiration of this vintage late 60's early 70's dress!  Well they were in and we came up with the idea of making this authentic and Eco-Friendly!
Our Styled Shoot is titled Eco~Hippy Chic.  All products were reused, authentic 60-70's decor. Most of our decor was borrowed from family members, stuff we already had and some (very little- the gown and the groom's shirt) was purchased through vintage boutiques. All of collaborators are from Long Beach, Ca and are apart of the Long Beach Wedding Collective. Our mission was to create a 70's inspired theme with everything as a reused item. Even some of our flowers were in a sense reused. We had originally scheduled to shoot at the Nature Preserve "Greenbelt" in LongBeach. Only days before our shoot we noticed they were leveling it out. It was so sad to see a blanket of wild flowers along a natural walk way in Long beach to be taken away. So our florist Megan Gray of Honey and Poppies gathered some of the wildly grown flowers indigenous to California to become apart of our floral arrangements. Each collaborator donated items of their own to the shoot. It was amazing to see how each of us already had decor from this genre and how it complimented the scene and created authenticity to the theme.

I have to thank ALL the gals from the Long Beach Wedding Collective for being apart of this and contributing in so many ways by sharing your expertise, lending props & helping bring an idea to fruition.  I also want to thank those who didn't get credit via the publication... our assistants!  Abbi Kidwell who at the time was Candice Maloney's assistant from De-Lovely Events really had a great hand in creating this vision we came up with. Shanda Hudson was my 2nd shooter; she captured some amazing sideline shots one being a full spread feature!
Special thanks to Ma n Pa's Market for allowing us to completely restyle their courtyard.

I'll be posting more images (my faves) from this later.
Oh and you have to check out Isabel Gonzalez's trailer of our Eco-Hippy Chic Shoot!

Sits Day Came and Went | Gone Fishing | Lifestyle Photographer

So while I had "gone Fishing" this past week, there were SO many things happening and I couldn't even blog!  We were in June Lake and we had wi-fi but the outlets were 2 prong and I couldn't plug my laptop in to blog about the amazing things happening during my trip with my family or with my business!  In all honesty even though I was craving to post a fab pic on my blog of this amazing trip, I really was thankful to take a techy break and so was my hubby!
So here is what I missed as well you possibly.  I had a Sits Day!  What is a Sits Day?  well if you blog you may know and if you don't blog... you definitely DO NOT know.  SitsGirls is a blog site for sistahs to share success and support each other's blogs!  It gives great exposure and creates fabulous SEO results as well when you get featured!  So last week during my fishing trip I had my DAY!
Thank SitsGirls for all the support and the fabulous feature!!!
I truly luv'd it!
Cheers!

Fabulous Week in EVERY WAY! | Family Get-Away | Mammoth Photography

Ok so I have been completely absent from blogging! Yes, I have been saying I intend on blogging more to catch up and share all that has been going on. Life has become a bit busy and I love it!  The one thing I have to do to balance my life is 86 the continuous up-to-date blog posts even thought I luv to do it and I still have so many more to post.  It has been quite a break since my last post but I have a fabulous reason... I just got back from a family get-away at June Lake!  It was such an amazing week to spend with my husband, my daughter, & our dogs!  We fished on our boat, hike to Lake Parker and drove through the Tioga Pass to experience the most epic display of snow and waterfalls!
We celebrated Father's Day, my husband and my 9th Anniversary of Marriage, watched our daughter master casting a fishing pole and toasted to fabulous news regarding KrashingMotions.
The whole week was just filled with moments to cherish!  I'm going to have to jot this down as one of my fave weeks for 2011!

Crystal & Jason {Beach Wedding} | Malibu West Beach Club | Malibu Wedding Photography

Just a few weeks ago I had the privilege to shot along Ian 1 of 2 wedding within days from each other at the Malibu West Beach Club.  Ian and I have shot together at this location 3 times and it is always so relaxing and beautiful.
Crystal & Jason had their wedding on a Thursday and just 2 days later I would be back up at the same location to shoot with Ian again.
I would like to preface this post with I have always said I would NEVER shoot back to back for my sanity's sake, my daughter's sake, and the for the couples' sake.
Why?  For one, the next day after shooting 10 hours, travelling for appx 2-3 and then uploading card after card means I probably just worked 15+ hours. and the next day I am BEAT!
So why did I agree to this then?
Well since I was just 2nd shooting I figured it would be a great way for me to see if I could in the future take on more weddings and shoot 2 in a week.
Well I'll tell you now.... even though I survived and DID it... I will NEVER book back to back!
So it is official I shall remain a boutique studio and I WILL NEVER MASS PRODUCE!
Giving my everything to my clients means so much to me! I want each client to know I got their back and I take pride in my work and cherish each of their weddings!

Okay now onto the Crystal & Jason's wonderful wedding day!

Crystal was a truly a vision!  She has the cutest and sweetest voice.  I can see how she and Jason are meant for each other; they are both truly the SWEETEST couple!

The ceremony was beautiful and they both gazed into each other's eyes... almost like a romance novel but not CHEESY!

Once they were announce husband and wife they were ready to celebrate!

The wedding party and family headed down to the beach for their portrait shots.  Again, the boys just kept me rolling!  They are such happy, go lucky guys enjoying every moment of this day!

I could not have been more pleased with the lighting during the beach shots.  The sun was behind them and the softness from the light felt so calming.

I remember thinking I could do this everyday at that moment (but we know the reality...not so).

This rocked- the bride and her dad busted out some moves during their father/daughter dance!  They totally got groovy! Then later that night everyone danced to Thriller!

It's ALL About the Boys | Jason & Crystal | Malibu and Long Beach Wedding Photographer

We all know that at a wedding it's all about the BRIDE... right?
Well this time I want to post just the boys!
These guys entertained me so much and they were so rocking this wedding so for my Part one of Jason & Crystal's wedding I'm honoring the boys!
These boys are from hood (yes I said hood).  In the LBC we refer it has the hood even us MOMS.
These guys did it right and in style!  They dawned the BIG day with some Hennessy.  Jason then graced his groomsmen with some fatty cigars to conclude a fabulous evening of celebration!

This wedding (for me) was a last minute shoot and I had never met the bride or groom.  I shot this with Ian Siso (thanks for having me); he was already with the ladies and I went straight to the guys room.
Without having never met me, they welcomed me with such graciousness.  I have to say chivalry is NOT LOST!  Jason and his groomsmen are probably the MOST respectful gentlemen I have met; they have amazing mothers and/or wives!
So here's to you the BOYS!
Congrats Jason & Crystal!
check back tomorrow for the wedding!
