So life is busy and I luv it!

Hey how can you not love working when it's on the beach with a spectacular view!  

I wanted to take a brief moment to post some images I captured during a wedding.  The things I get to enjoy at a wedding are always so magical.

Pelicans flying over during a ceremony; it's as if they were giving their blessing to the couple.

Prom Night @ the Queen Mary | Long Beach Photographer

Just over a week ago My niece had her 1st prom. It just happened it was in my city of Long Beach at the Queen Mary and lucky for us we were going out on the boat and would be nearby. So I met her and her date so I could see her looking fabulous and of course grab some shots!

Little did I know how I was going to feel about seeing her all glam'd up? She took my breath away as I walked towards her and I could barely hold back the tears!

Wow what a beauty you are Dei!

Little did she know that when I said I was going to get some shots of her did I mean, let's do an actual photo SHOOT!

She was full of nerves and excitement and she kept giving me this goofy grin she does when she is nervous. I didn't really get what she was so nervous about until her date Christian said they had just met only 30 minutes ago! What? Oh well I guess that just crossed a few of my more cozy poses.

Funny thing is even though they just met, having this mini photo session was the perfect way to break the ice! They both got into it and were willing to direction and play it up!

Dei has a bit of drama in her blood and think Christina may too.

Oh and before you all get weirded out about her going to prom with a blind date- DON'T! 1st she had a date but he was put on restriction just the day before. Can you believe that? Too bad Dei, mom n dad had already invested into this evening and who really want to break the heart of a girl going to her prom?! With the help of a family member and the approval of her parents, she was fortunate enough to have her 1st blind date be with Christian (a cutie and a super respectable guy).

From what I know, they had a blast and the shoot was the topic of the night!

Happy Mother's Day | Mother's are Blessed | Long Beach Creative Lifestyle Photographer

I have to say I am one lucky "mommy".  I have an AMAZING lil girl who has the biggest heart and soul to warm ANY heart!  I love being her mother and I almost feel not worthy given she is such an inspiration to me!  I aspire to be more like my daughter; her spirit for life puts a HUGE smile on my face!
I want to thank you my baby for giving me the gift of motherhood!

I want to thank my mom for giving me the gift as well! If it weren't for you mom I wouldn't be here in life; I wouldn't have had such a fabulous family;  I wouldn't have lived life's lessons; I wouldn't have known how to love, to nurture and to enrich my daughter's dreams.
Thank you Mom; I love you!

To my sisters who are now mommies as well, my sis-in-laws, and ALL of my nieces (6) and nephews (2...and the one on the way); I love you!

To all of you mommies out there I thank you as well for giving each other support, for helping your friends in need, for giving each other the support to get through the days that feel like we can't get through, for all the poop talks, for letting us all know it's ok that we are NOT perfect, and for giving us all a break with playdates and vino!

Busy as a Bee NOT Blogging| Show It Sites for Me & YOU | California Wedding Photography

So I have been busy doing everything except BLOGGING!  I hate the fact that I may be leaving some people hanging who want to the latest new images and what's going on in my life of crazy mediocrity.

So what have I been doing?

Well if you haven't checked my SITE lately then you are definitely out of the loop.  I finally revamped and redesigned my website with a new company ShowItFast Sites by the fabulous David Jay.
It's been something I have been considering moving toward since the 1st revamp of my lifestyle & wedding site when I moved to BluDomain.  The only reason I didn't head over to the fabulous world of ShowIt initially was because I knew I would have to invest a lot of time learning the program and creating the design to my exact wishes on my own.  It seemed so daunting.  After having my BluDomain up for 2 years I just wanted something completely custom and unique for my wedding & boudoir photography!

So I made the JUMP at the end of January and started on my journey of web design; it took me a good 3 months of solid working, revamping, testing, more testing, more redesigning and then it happened...
I finally created exactly what I wanted!!!
During all of this I realized that having just a template design made me quite lazy when it came to updating my portfolio; when I looked back my original site I saw so many old images that did not reflect my current style.  I looked at it and thought how did I ever get hired with this site?
So now with the new updates, I already am getting more inquiries and solid clients.

So I love my new site and love the opportunities it will bring for 2011!
Not only do I benefit from this new change in my life with ShowIt, my clients will too!
I have been busy creating +sites for my clients, hence the lack of urgency of blogging.  Now my clients have the opportunity to have their very own site to share their images with family and friends!
I love what a personal site can do for clients and how it showcases the images we captured during their sessions and weddings!
It's made their lives easy as well; it's a one stop shop for them!  They have fabulous images showcased, info of their wedding to share with guests, and link to their online proofing gallery to purchase prints if they wish. There is so much offered in a personal site that I could never had done before.

It's been such fun creating these for you all!
