Tivoli Terrace Wedding | Brian & Michelle | Laguna Beach Wedding Photography

Wow have I lagged! I posted the details but 'laxed a tad on the actual event! It's been a busy few weeks and I'm still spinning when it comes to catching up; the 1st thing I usually end up putting on the back-burner is my blog so I may catch up on my workflow.
So without further ado, here they are Michelle & Brian in their moment! They were THE most comical couple I have shot thus far! It's apparent in many of the moments captured! Thanks for the laughs you two...but if there is any shake in the pics... I blame you for cracking me up all night!
I had such a great time shooting along side of Charla Blue at this event- thanks Char for having me because it was the perfect wedding for us to shoot with each other!
It's funny, even though I was 2nd shooter and this couple wasn't "my couple" I felt such a bond with them; I have a tendency to fall for the couples I'm fortunate enough to shoot! I think it's because we as photographers are lucky enough to be in the moment with them from beginning to end. It's such an intimate time for them and I personally can feel it through my view finder! I feel their excitement, their nervousness, their anticipation! So thank you to all the couple who allow us to be apart of your special day! Wow- I just realized why I love what I do!
Getting Ready- the heat is on!
Ok so it was a bit hot that day and very humid, but I really think Brian was more nervous than hot!

Laguna Tivoli Terrace Wedding | Michelle & Brian | KrashingMotions Wedding Photographer

Last Saturday, I had the thrill to 2nd shoot with my best friend Charla of Charla Blue in Laguna. I haven't shot with her in many months other than our last session I shot of she and her family. The day started off beautifully and ended beautifully; though the moment of getting ready until the moment of sitting for dinner, we were all just a tad bit ...hhhmmm how do I say this... glistening with warm, moist air! The weather was one of the weirdest I have experience this time of year in SoCal- bizarre humidity! Despite the weather, everything was beautiful, spirits where and high and everyone was ready to celebrate in honor of Brian & Michelle at the beautiful Tivoli Terrace!
This blog will be one of 2, just because I was in the mood to detail it up!
All photographers know the importance of shooting the details. Many shoot them because it helps tie the story together, others shoot them for publishing purposes, I shoot them because I too was a bride a few moons ago and I remember the time and thought put into EVERY detail!
I find the importance of making sure we get those details to honor the bride, her planners, her families efforts into each detail they took the time to find & prepare!
So this blog excerpt is to honor the details! Plus we had over 3 hours to capture details during their 'getting ready' process.
(My faves to shoot are the shoes n gown if you couldn't already tell!)
another dress n shoes - classically done
the dress the shoes- again with flare now!
the earrings and yes again the shoes- dazzling!
The dress the shoes... the lighting!
simplicity works well!

Bye, Bye Brummels | Long Beach Lifestyle Photography | KrashingMotions

Ok so where do I start? The day we met? The day THEY met? The night they talked until the weeee hours of the night (I knew then)? Our trip to Laughlin ... (stairs, earthquake.. what was it?) The day I found out I was pregnant (Charla was with me and the 1st to know)? The night my water broke and Char came to help? The night of their engagement party? Their engagement session when I wasn't even considering a life as a photographer? The moment they said "I do!"? Their 1st dance as husband and wife? The day Charla called Dan from Spain deciding she was going to be a photographer? The day they found out they were pregnant with Brooklyn? The weddings we shot while Char was 9 months pregnant? The 30-something plus hours of Charla's never-ending labor? The 1st photos I took of Brooklyn? The day Charla realized life does change when you have a child? Our 1st SmugMug and Char walks out with 2 really cute shoes on? Our morning breakfasts hosted by Dan? Our local breakfast at every kick-ass place like The Pot Holder, Coffee Cup, Eggs Heaven, Starlings? The challenges we've faced? The support from our friends?
There really isn't a place to start, we've had so many laughs, so many sorrows, so many experiences, so many life changes all together! These are our best friends Charla, Dan & their daughter Brooklyn! I'm crying as write this because they've decided to leave our happy little neighborhood of Belmont Heights to a far away burb called Lakewood. Seriously, I'm being completely selfish; they are probably going to be 15 minutes driving but I have loved our 6 years of being neighbors & best buddies! No more days of walking with wine filled coffee cups over to their Spanish abode for dinner and firepit laughter! No more Thursday Music on Bay. No more walks to "Mondays at George's"! Yes I know I am being selfish, but I'm going to miss those days terribly!
So here is my last shoot with them as "my neighbors"- luckily the best friend thing still stands!
Best wishes- I hope you love your new little neighborhood as much as you loved ours! We love you and we will miss you!
Well we will just have to babysit so we can get our Brookee fix!!!!

Long Beach Photographer| Remembering Our Fallen Heroes

I can't believe it has been 8 years already! Here in Belmont Heights, we are lucky to have one very special family who annually hosts a tribute to our fallen heroes. The event is so huge; the community and beyond are so supportive! Though so many wounds have hopefully healed, it is so touching to know that we still remember and honor those we lost that horrifying day! God Bless America!

Veteran's Memorial Pier | kyst by everlee | Lifestyle Photographer

Some of you may know that I have a very special niece (all my nieces & nephews are just as special) but Everlee is different in a very special way. She is a kind-hearted soldier. She has seen more in her life than most of us and she is only 7 months old! She has had 8 brain surgeries to place and replace her shunt; she has had a blood transfusion; she had her exposed spine surgically repaired; she under goes daily visits to all of her 6 specialists. This girl is a soldier and she does it all with a smile! She has Spina Bifida but she is not her disease; she is Everlee. Through all that she has had to go through, she doesn't know any different; she knows her mommy, daddy, sister, family & friends love her dearly! She has an amazing family! Her sister Aubree is so helpful at the tender age of 3. Her daddy Scott is very supportive and works his booty off to provide for his family and their ever growing medical bills. Her mommy, well Karlee is there for her 24 hours non-stop. Karlee has had to change her life more than anyone could expect. My sister used to by a rising star in the corporate world; a working woman with huge aspirations! Being a mom has always been her priority after having her 1st daughter Aubree but I'm sure she didn't expect the call of duty would require her to change her world, her family's world. Now being there, I'm sure she wouldn't have it any other way. Karlee is more than just a 24 hour mom, she is a 24 hour nurse & therapist to her daughter. With all of this, she still wants to continue with building a business. With little to no time on her hands, she discovered an outlet for herself, creating bracelets (and not just any bracelet). Karlee has created something from her heart. They are hand made, eco-conscious designs to heal. Please join in the cause to bring Spina Bifida Awareness to others by visiting her website to learn more about Spina Bifida. If you like what you see and I'm sure you will, 25% of all proceeds will be donated to various Spina Bifida Charities. Kyst By Everlee not only brings you beautiful awareness bracelets but resources, education and links to learn more about Spina Bifida.

Long Beach Photographer | Orange ~Shoes ~DEAL!

OK -so Charla & Cora guessed it- my favorite summer color is ORANGE! I love orange all year long- but in the summer when I'm tan I love to wear it almost every day! You know what else I love- a deal...almost a steal!
Yesterday I went to Lowes and Kmart in hopes to find a fan! Both places were out! But I didn't come home empty handed; Kmart had the best deals on shoes and they were actually CUTE!!!!
I found 2 pairs- one for $5.99 and the other for $4.79! I don't care if they are from Kmart or if they aren't a $600 pair of Jimmy Choos; they are cute, comfey and the BEST deal ever!!!!
Did you know Joe Boxer makes shoes?
Yes I know; I have the ugliest toes ever; another good reason I got these shoes...the cover up most of my long, crooked toes!
