Last week, I again was pleased to shoot along side Samuel Lippke as his second shooter; we have a good time.
We were lucky to have some beautiful weather (though a bit on the hot side)!
I was very lucky to capture the boys at the Viceroy; what a fabulous location for "getting ready" shots! It had this feel of those"rat pack"days!
After finishing our "get ready" shots we headed from Santa Monica to Pasadena! Dayna & JC said their vows at the Holy Family Church of Pasadena. This Church was magnificent, but with limitations to when, where and how we could shoot the couple. They had good reason to say their vows here since it was JC's uncle who was the Father to pronounce their marriage.
(FYI- future bride's and groom's... make sure you know the rules of your ceremony location when it comes to getting your moment captured. Many churches will NOT allow flash or allow us to come near you to capture those tender moments of you and your soon to be spouse gazing at each other.)
Anyhow, the ceremony was beautiful! The reception was full of life! During the cocktail hour, they celebrated with a Mariachi band!
The reception was beautiful; Beth Helmstetter planned an amazing event with magnanimous centerpieces adorned by White Lilac, Yari More performed live, & DJ Nahchey rocked the house like I've never seen!!!!
Thanks again Samuel for having along another fabulous wedding!

1st- I love facebook! It has been such a great place to reconnect with old friends! 2nd I love that I get to capture many of these old friends! It's so great to have people I once knew almost 20 years ago reconnect and then hire me to capture their now growing families!
So here is another one my HS friends Shannan and her adorable, ham-it-up 5 year old Josh! We had a fabulous mini-shoot which worked perfectly for an excited boy who really just wanted to play in the ocean. As soon as I was done shooting- bags packed up Josh took a header into the shore and small wave came over him! The moment was priceless and of course my camera gear was already packed! I had to get it back out- he was to cute with all that sand and water on him!
Thanks for the fun!
Saddlerock Ranch | Malibu Wedding Photographer | Chippy & Josh! ...thanks Samuel!
Last Saturday I had the privilege to shoot a wedding as 2nd shooter for Samuel Lippke @ Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. This guy is one of the most chill, artistic people I have met as of recent. Samuel has such a great free-spirit while being focused!
We shot one of the most relaxing weddings I could imagine! The bride & groom plus family and party were so chill; I never felt a moment of stress (and it seemed they didn't either). Which proves a point to hire someone not only for their work, for their reputation but also for their personality to mesh with yours!
If you ever are planning a wedding or shooting a wedding or even just going wine tasting...check out SaddleRock Ranch- it is amazing with fabulous redrock surroundings, horses, bison, zebras, and peacocks!
Now a little bit more about the couple- Chippy & Josh!!! They were so sweet and accommodating! They have such a lust for life! Josh had commented how he loved that Chippy (his now wife) was actually getting use and living in her wedding gown; this comment was due to us dragging her around dirt, streets and mud before she had even got to enjoy her reception... basically I think we already captured a Trash-the-Dress session! she was in for anything requested- I loved she and her new hubby for it!!
Breath... Reflect... Admire... Astonish... Appreciate...
So in the last 1.75 years so much has happened to many of us! Reflect, look back and think how much of our lives have changed; how much has happened; how much we possibly may have missed.
About a year ago or just less of a year, my best-friend Charla
challenged me to 101 goals in 1001 days (at least that's what I remember- I had a different blog
back then and will have to find it in my archives).

So about 6 months after I created my list, I saw I had accomplished many of my goals and they were pretty balanced with a tad more into my business development. I checked it again a few months ago and had realized that about about 80% of business development goals had been reached within a year; I was so excited! I continue to be excited how my photography business & experiences grow!!!! The one thing I have notice that has escaped my growth in my goals... is my giving back to my family; meaning my hubby and daughter! How is it that I blog multiple times a week and I my own daughter gets such little recognition? I am always there for anyone of my family members who needs me, but when it comes to my own daughter I find myself telling her to wait for my attention- SO SAD!!! I love her with all my heart!!!
So lately I have been making an effort to do the things we used to... she loves going out to lunch- SERIOUSLY!!!! She loves George's Greek on 2nd, La Palapa, and Yen (she's not a cheap date- but I love her! So when I can I oblige, I do...plus I love them too!) So here is some blog time to the one person who deserves it the most- my beautiful daughter KRUIZ!!!! I love you baby!!!
International Photographer Social Network ~Out of My Shell!!!!
OK, so I have come full circle out of my shell! For 7 years I have been sort of a recluse (at least for me).
Before I was married, before I had to quit working because of debilitating disease, I used to be "miss socialite". I knew everyone in Newport & Santa Barbara (at least that's what it felt like). Recently one my sister's friends made a funny comment about the old days in Newport, she said she looked at me as if I was famous because I new everyone on the peninsula and I got us in carte blanche to every restaurant, bar and club. I thought what happened to me?
Since then, since I've been married (now 7 years) and I don't go to the clubs anymore, since I stopped working I had become much less social and almost nervous about being around people whom I did not know. Well things have changed since I found myself again, since I became a photographer. With the help of my friend Charla, I have now become more engaging with new people; now I actually love it like I used to!
I am so out of my recluse shell now; I've even created a new Social Network for photographers! Within a short 22 hours it has already gained over 35 members and I see a great future for it, for photographers!
Check it it out!
Now all I can say is...
BABY I'm BACK!!!!
