Grand Prix 2009 | Sports Photography | KrashingMotions

I can't believe the Grand Prix has come and gone already this year...wasn't it just January? I have to thank Eric from the Auld Dubliner Pub who was able to rally up 10 tickets for me to give to Steve of Martin Bros Racing in honor of his love Rani Ramphal who passed recently. Unfortunately, Steve didn't make it but he was gracious enough to pass them along to Rani's loved ones whom I am sure enjoyed and appreciated the festivities of the race! I was so excited to capture Danica and Tony in the paddock! I am so becoming a fan of Danica's- she rocks! This lil bity thing able to maneuver a high-speeding metal on wheels! This was the 1st year we brought our daughter to the race(ear plugs included). She really enjoyed all the hype and zooming of the cars! She loved Danica!!!! It's so funny, I've been enjoying this race for many years. I can here the sound of the cars from my house (in Belmont Heights) and I love it! I used to live @ Camden where the race was basically my backyard- wow those were some good times! It's nice to have a tradition to enjoy with my daughter. I think we'll bring every year for at least the main race- it's not as crazy!

A World Like Mississauga-What a World it Would Be!

This is truly amazing! Why can't Schwarzenegger get some tips from this woman? Can you believe our car registration is going to double if your registration is due after May 19 of this year. (we have a bill for about $450 for our registration due just before May 19th or on- does that mean next year my registration is going to be $900...are you kidding?) This 88 year old woman mayors a city that hasn't had a murder in over 30 years and is debt free. When asked how does she do it- she simply states "you need to keep your people happy with low taxes and an increasing amount of jobs"...hhhmmm what a novel idea! What up Cali?!!!

Remembering Rani... | Memorial

Saturday was the memorial of a wonderful gal named Rani!
 We never look
forward to memorials but I have to say that I have been to a few that have been so wonderful, such as Rani's!  It was beautiful to see how many people's lives she touched.  There were moments of sadness & loss; there were moments of happiness & reflection.
I knew Rani many years ago when I was a
younger, more rebellious type.  She was spunky, spirited, kind, & loving! She would make me laugh and even shock me at times (which is somewhat hard- not much shocks me)!
She was the person who would always have your back!

When Rani found out she was sick she decided to live her dreams as
a cowgirl and boy did she ever!!!!  She was fearless, and determined! In such a short time of being that cowgirl gained such a fondness from so many people!
Her memorial was beautiful; set in a ranch with 2.5 acres with horses, goats, pigs, roosters, and dogs- a place you could consider heaven. It's no wonder why she chose to live the rest of her life like this.
Cheers to you Rani... keep
 on riding!

Celebrating Rani

Today we celebrate the life of Rani Ramphal. She laughed, loved and LIVED life more than most! Rani is loved by all whose paths she walked along. Though we must say good bye to her vibrant smile, we shall cherish her spirit and what she gave to us all! So cheers to Rani as you smile above us!  Much Love!

Happy Birthday Andrew!!!! | Event Photography | Yorba Linda Photographer

Happy Birthday Andrew!
Can you tell I love this little guy! I blog about him quite a bit! Actually I blog about him more because my sister Kendee hires me to shoot him a few times a year. Did I say hire...yes I did! No I'm not being a mean sister charging her for my services but (I think I've said this before) she knows the time I need to put into each session.  Plus she knows she'll get her pics in a timely manner then.

Andrew turned 1 this last weekend (actually 8 days ago- his party was Saturday).
What an event, my sister and her hubby Matt went all out with decor and the most amazing balloon man EVER!!!! This guys could create art out of balloons! I need to get his number and post it! He made King Kong on the Eiffel Tower with helicopters swarming! Anyhow the festivities went off without a hitch (@ least what I was present for). My car tire had a gash in the side and I had AAA come to my house and swap it with the spare. I thought I was fine but then I'm on the road and my tire light starts flashing crazy! I get off it looks fine I guess the sensors were just telling me my tire was missing! So I made it finally over an hour late- nice Auntie!!!!

I arrive @ Yorba Regional Park and see my friends walking across the street. I say "Hi" to them and they are like "what are you doing here?" I say "Hello...it's my nephew B-day". I assumed they were there for that, but no they were having their own egg hunt with family; it was just a funny coincidence. It doesn't sound like any big deal but it was just so random since they and I live in Long Beach and here we were in Yorba Linda at the same park!!!

So onto the party! Everything was decorated so bright and fun- yellow & pop blue! The kids were running around; the men, actually more like boys (they never grow up) were playing horseshoes and croquet; the rest mingling and chasing after kids! I would say for a 1st year B-Day it was a success & more!!!!!

Featured Picniker- COOL! | Published Photographer

This last Friday I was featured on Picnik's Blog.   Recently Virginia of Picnik contacted me and ask if it would be OK  to feature a short story of me and my use of Picnik.  I of course said yes...
I think she and her staff did a great job on the story and choosing the pics of mine to feature.  As most photographer's do, I truly enjoyed the compliments.   Photography is an art and as much as we do it for ourselves, the recognition is what keeps us motivated; many artists and photographers are so critical of their own work that we need to hear it from others once in a while (so thanks for the ego boost...hee, hee).  Thank you Virginia and the picnik staff for the feature story!
Now you are probably asking what is picnik?  Picnik is an online software much like photoshop, but simpler to use and again it's online.  It enables photographers, novice or pro, to dress up our photos making them fabulous & unique!  Check out their blog and site to get the whole picture!

Happy Birthday my Lil Princess | Event Photography

My daughter Kruiz just celebrated her 4th Birthday last week! I can't believe it has already been 4 years!!! In that time both of my sister's had given birth as well; my parents went from no grandchildren to having 4 in 4 years! In this time my best friend Charla became engaged, married, and just had her 1st baby- Brooklyn! In this short time, we have moved from downtown to the heights; my husband became and administrator; Kruiz has gone from a crib to a toddler bed to twin size loft bed. In this time I have gone from being an artist to full-time mom to building my own photography business.
My baby is now a princess!
Life continues to challenge and AMAZE me!
I love you Kruiz; Happy Birthday!

 Love, Mommy

Small Yet Strong! | Baby & Lifestyle Photography

This is my niece Everlee!  I haven't spent much time with her but I can tell you she is so loved and is the strongest person I know!  Barely 8 weeks and she has undergone 5 surgeries- 2 just this week!  Today was her 5th and she is doing well!  I have such admiration for my sister Karlee and her husband Scott (plus Aubree their other daughter); they take every challenge in stride!
Karlee joked that I blog about dogs but not my niece.  Yes she is right but in my defense, I haven't seen much of her.  My sister and brother-in-law moved out to Canyon Lakes recently and it's been a challenge for all of us to make the time to travel out there.  It's only an hour and half away but @ that distance we really need to make a weekend out of it.
I don't know how they do that either; they travel back & forth from Canyon Lakes to Orange ALL the time!  I never realized how much patience these 2 have- amazing!
Well I'm proud of you all- you have amazing strength!
