Couple #1- Erin & Clay
Back in high school I had the BIGGEST crush on the “guy in the silver truck.” The only thing I knew about him at the time was that he was way hott and waaaay too old for me! My girlfriends and I would just drool when he passed the front of the school. One day I finally spoke up and declared that they all “mark my words…I’m gonna make him my boyfriend one of these days!” The response was “in your dreams, he’s way too old for you and you’ll never have a chance.”
My first year out of high school (a couple of years later) I was dating a total DOG, but little did I know that he would lead me to Clay…”the guy in the silver truck.” He happened to be friends with Mr. “Silver Truck’s” sister and boyfriend at the time. Once I had gotten rid of the jerk I had been dating I mentioned to a mutual friend that I was interested in Clay. Long story short, he was newly single and we met up in a parking lot where we talked for hours with our friend. At the end of the night I gave him my phone number, but the little booger waited like 4 days before he FINALLY called!
He asked if I would like to join him for a drive in the desert, so for our first date he took me up to the top of a mountain to what we now know as the “big foot” mountain. We hit it off and have been inseparable ever since and that’s been over 6 years! The day he proposed he took me for a drive to
the same place we went for our first date. I didn’t think anything of it because it is a special place that we like to go together, but this day was different, he agreed to a picnic lunch! He also insisted that I take our
camera so we could take a picture together when we made it to the top of the mountain.
We reached our destination and before he dropped down the hill to the “big foot” he stopped and said he wanted to climb and take our picture. We climbed up the hill and took a few pictures. When I thought we were through he told me that he wanted to take one more and for me to stay where I was. He set the timer and ran back over to me and right when the camera clicked he proposed!! It was the most romantic set up ever! He timed it perfectly with the most beautiful shot of the valley in the background. The picture is priceless!
Couple #2- Jeff & Chris
Although my fiancee Jeff and I have been together for almost two years, and have gone on plenty of dinner dates and movie dates and shopping dates, it wasn't until this past Sunday that I really had a new sense of Jeff and our relationship. Over the past couple of months we've discovered that we both had an itch to become parents/guardians to his little niece Jayleen. We both knew that we wanted to be someone special in her life and give her a life that she otherwise might not be able to have, so we decided to do a
"trial run" to see how our parenting skills would be, and to see if we could calmly take care of a two year old and still have our sanity. So what else could the both of us do to try our patience, but to go to the happiest place on earth. I know that I probably had the most anxiety about the day, and Jeff seemed to be the most patient of all. And let me tell you, I probably couldn't have had a more peaceful, relaxing and actually a very romantic date.
When I say romantic, I don't mean because there were flowers or wine or a very expensive dinner, but romantic because it was so nice to see my fiancee in a role that I haven't ever seen him in. Jayleen was absolutely mesmerized by everything her eyes could take in at Disneyland, and Jeff and I were so caught up in the moment of being parents that the day seemed to flow seamlessly. It seemed that we had a new appreciation of each other and what we could actually achieve in our relationship. I think the whole day caught us by surprise because it was something we both want, and
something we both wanted to do with her. Because of that day, and the way that we saw each other in a new light, I think that we are well on our way of becoming the parents that we've wanted to be.
Couple #3- Melissa & Chas
Chas heard me singing one night for a group of friends. He didnt exactly see me but he heard my voice and wondered who that was! Having a cocktail with a neighbor of mine, my name was brought up in their conversation. "Oh thats Melissa. She lives on the first floor and sings many nights with her friends". It may sound cheesy but Chas knew that he had to meet me.
A couple of weeks later Chas was enjoying himself at the pool with friends and barbequing! I heard from my balcony the Police playing (which I love) and told one of my roommates that we needed to go check out what was going on at the pool. Chas and I met at the barbeques! When I introduced myself he was so happy that he was meeting the Melissa that sings! He let me know that he had heard me singing one night and that he really enjoyed it. That is where we began. We stayed up and talked all night. It was the beginning of our beautiful love for one another and the amazing friendship we have built. I am so blessed to have him in my life and am thankful that things happened the way they did! We are so lucky!

Part 2 of Bev- Headshots | Head Shots | KrashingMotions Photography

I absolutely love Shoreline Village; it is an excellent place for colorful backdrops! So here we are with Bev again- I said it before... it was a 2 day shoot! I actually thought I would only blog twice for her shoot but it's looking like I will be posting 3-4 total; I can't help it! She needed headshots for work, she wanted studio shots for she and her baby and we definitely had to do location shots of the two of them as well. So expect one more post of this session at least possibly 2!

I can't wait to hear what you think Bev; you look gorgeous!!!!

A Moment to Remember | Basketball Photography | KrashingMotions

This last Thursday I had the pleasure to shoot the Mary Stars basketball team for their chance at the Championship. Their very passionate coach Victor Tuberosi was so proud of his team, he hired me to shoot this moment for them!
How many people can say that they have played basketball inside the Staples Center? How many can say they played and amazing game?! Well these amazing kids played their hearts out and they had the experience of doing it @ the Staples Center! The game was so fast paced it was hard for me to keep up; I lost my breath a few times! The first half their opponents seemed to have the upper hand, but a fire blazed within the hearts of the Mary Stars during the 2nd half and they definitely outperformed the other team! Unfortunately, the Mary Stars didn't claim the championship but I think this experience is one they will whole-heartedly cherish!

2-day Visit & Shoot | Long Beach Lifestyle Photography

This is Bev and her 3rd baby Lennon! He is such a cutie-pie!!
I thought it would appropriate to post her session today because of her gorgeous green eyes and shirt! Happy St Patty's!!!!! Bev is my hubby's best friend; she was in our wedding line-up as a GroomsLady! It's crazy, the last time we saw her was when my daughter was only 10 mos. old (who will be 4 this month) and her daughter was 11 mos (her first child); now she has 3-wow time flies and she definitely kept busy- tic-tac-toe! On her visit to Cali with her youngest she hired me to do some headshots of her for business site and if we had time some of she & Lennon. I had plenty of time, so a day and half later we have way too many shots! Again more studio work and more to follow with of course my fav- location shots! Enjoy Bev and Happy St Patty's all!

Toddler in Training! | Long Beach Lifestyle Photographer | KrashingMotions

Well it's been almost a 1 full year since this lil one was born!!!!!  Isn't he so adorable?!  I love this guy so much!!!!  My sister hired me to shoot his one-year portraits before his birthday so she could have the prints by his B-Day! First we shot in the studio because it was raining.  I normally prefer to only do studio shots for intimate boudoir, pregnancy and newborn sessions- their is just that element of Sears Studio when it's anything else (@ least to me).
Given the weather and my sister's wishes to try it out, I obliged and I think they came out better than I expected (but I still prefer the studio to be used as I stated before).  My fav is the one of him just chillin- that is so his personality.... continue down to read more....

Luckily the sun came out and I was able to get some cute shots of Andrew in the best lighting.  Natural light is just so great when it comes to little kids eyes!  I love shooting close-ups because of it!!!!

Apparently someone loves the taste of keys!

This expression is just to sweet... he looks like a completely different boy!

Nothing Can Mess Up  this Adorable FACE!!!!

Well Andrew here's to you and all of your wonderful looks you give me; I love you- you little stinker!!!!  Soon to be an official toddler!

Michael's on Naples! | Long Beach Photographers | Networking locals in Long Beach

Last night I attended Michael's on Naples 1 Year Anniversary Soiree; what an affair! The place is absolutely gorgeous; upstairs is my favorite with the outdoor fireplace & retractable awning exposing the amazing stars!
My husband stayed home with our daughter and I was seconds away from canceling, but my husband insisted I make an appearance and check it out!
Luckily for me this place was filled with great, social people who were very welcoming & friendly; I attended SOLO (so not me)! I was happy to bump into a familiar face- John from La Palapa (another one of my fav places).
He and his girlfriend Lauren were very sweet to introduce me to many people- great, fun people! Justin was the one who had invited me in the 1st place and he knows EVERYONE in Long Beach & apparently so does John!
I had a fabulous time meeting new people and people who I knew of... i.e. Samuel Lippke - a phenomenal photographer here in Long Beach (he even took a shot with my cam... the one of John, I and one of his friends in black
n white- thanks Sam).
I was blessed with liquid courage as I stretched outside of my usual comfort zone- (the best cosmos I've ever had)! The cocktails were flowing, the room was a buzzing oh and did I mention the food? The apps were amazing!!! I tried EVERYTHING that came out... my favorite was the filet mignon tartar- wowza!!! My not so favorite was the oxtail...I'm sure it was fabulous for it being oxtail- but definitely not my cup of tea; it was something different, and even daring for me to try (I would try almost
anything). I have to compliment the chef Matthew Poley- what an amazing young man with an adventurous, innovative mind!
Congrats Michael Dene for your success and I wish you much more!!!!
