Again Some More of the Intimate Moment's Soiree | Boudoir Photographer

So this is Kelly- one of the sweetest people I know! She is an absolute doll!
Though she may be sweet, don't mess with her; she's a Sag like me and I know what she's capable of! We sag's don't let people take us down. I love Kelly's free spirit- she goes with the flow and is always up for an adventure! And those eyes- what can I say, they are breathtaking! To be 20 something and have the world in your hands; I remember those days! Thanks Kelly for being
such a sweet person and adventurous soul- it was a pleasure to shoot you! Want more...go to the more revealing side of my blog

Mas Boudoir!

Boudoir Party! | Boudoir Photographer | KrashingMotions Photography

So my best friend Charla came up with a fun idea for us to get more boudoir experience- a Boudoir Party. She & I were going to host it together but my hysterectomy ended up being scheduled for the Wednesday just before the party, so I couldn't commit. I was hopeful I would have been healed and ready to do some moderate shooting, but the day of I called and gave her the news that she was on her own with 11 girls!...(keep reading)

While I was resting on the couch Saturday with my hubby, he received a call to meet for a drink. Given that I had been stuck in a hospital & house for 4 days straight, I was hoping he would let me tag along- no harm just sitting easing my pain with a glass of wine. He apparently wanted some time with his buddies and not his ailing wife because he said "nope- not gonna happen". Well me being the Sagittarian that I am, I got a bit huffy and said "fine then I'm going to the Boudoir Party and shooting" (so mature)....

Luckily for that adrenaline kick, I was able to walk the 2 blocks w/ my gear. I'm so thankful I did, what an experience! The ladies looked fabulous! It was the perfect atmosphere with wine & apps in the house and private shooting in the casitas....

Charla had already shot 5 of the girls and I jumped in for the last 6. I started out slow due to my limitations, but after the wine saturated my veins, I was able to move around a bit more and get some great shots (these are of Becca)!I look forward to our next Boudoir Party- but I know Charla isn't into the word boudoir so let's call it the "Intimate Soiree Session- Invitation Only" or the "Intimate Moments Soiree- Invitation Only". Hows that Char, you like it? Thank you Charla! Thank you girls! Oh and Thank you Hubby for making me huffy- had it not been for you I would have stayed home and missed out on a fabulous experience! Our Future as Americans | President Obama | American Photographer

Today we watched a remarkable moment in history, the Inauguration of our 44th president of the United States President Barrack Obama! He spoke of hope, prosperity and our future. When I think of our future, our hope, our inspiration, I think of my daughter! She is everything I live for and work for; she is my future! I am so thrilled to have her grow up in a country knowing that ANYTHING is possible! We grew up thinking that one day we MIGHT have our country led by someone not restricted by race or sex, but truly I was skeptical. Now it has happened and I could not be prouder to be an American! Our future is our children and now they will grow up knowing that their future is bright and that EVERYTHING is possible! "Spirit of Hope"

"Spirit of Happiness" "Spirit of Freedom" "Spirit of our Future"

Belmont Shore Beach Clean-up

I continue to love LB more and more. What a great city with great people! Today my hubby, daughter, sis-in-law, 2 nieces, and I volunteered to pick up trash on the beach for CAT. We were early and eager to contribute back to the environment & ocean. I was so amazed at the number of people who do this regularly every 3rd Saturday of every month. Kruiz and I volunteered once before but neglected to see that there was actually a check-in for volunteering; I've become wise and now know there are benefits to checking in- such as complimentary water, bags, oh and the much needed gloves! The consistent volunteering has truly made a positive affect on the beaches. You can tell a huge difference in appearance! It's so gratifying to be apart of this and show responsibility for our surroundings!

Though I have to be honest, I was a bit disgusted with the people who seem to have taken advantage of our surroundings and neglect their responsibilities as citizens by merely picking up their own crap! Sure a lot of the trash is from run-off of the LA basin, rain, etc, but I assure you I found items you could not believe and they were definitely placed there by people who have no respect for our beaches or environment! #1 item found... cigarette butts! Most common were Camels, menthols, and Swisher Sweets. Seriously- are you that LAZY, you can't even take flippin cigarette butt & put in in a bag of your own to throw away? LB is not short of trash cans- there are trash cans every 20 feet it. #2 item found... (watch out) condoms!!!!! WTF!!!!! SICK!!!! I picked up 3 f-in condoms and my husband picked up 10! Now let's remember this was within 30 minutes being there and most of them were around tower #8 (apparently it's a hot place to get laid)! This was just crazy to me- again trash cans are everywhere!!!!! You can't even slip your own prophylactic into a fuckin trash? (Excuse my french, but we had our 4 year old and teenage nieces along with 100's of other families out there volunteering to make our beaches cleaner!) Get off your lazy asses when your done banging whomever and put your shit in the can! GOT it!!!!! GOOD. I might start banking at tower #8 with my camera and catch your sorry, lazy asses if this continues! So on a good note- it was nice to apart of the community and lend a hand. I just wish people would be more aware of there environement and not rely on volunteers to wipe up0 there messes!

A Wonderful Life in Long Beach | Long Beach Professional Photography

What a life? Long Beach is truly amazing! I love being here amongst all the people, the events, the views! We are so lucky to live in such a fabulous place! Even though I had expected January to be slow when it came to business, I was a bit saddened on how slow it could really be. In the grand scheme of things, it was meant to be; I would not have had the time to enjoy such great weather and family time had I been booked. Most people need weekend shoots, so my family time is limited on adventures. I am thankful for this time with them and appreciate the luxury of living in Long Beach! How many people get to see the ocean everyday and walk around in shorts and sandals during January?

Looking Back | 1010 things to do 1001 days | Long Beach Lifestyle Photographer

So Charla had me create a 101 things to do in 1001 Days last year. I saw on her blog that she listed what she had completed- I not going to list everything but I'll give you an idea of how much I have progressed: Family- I have completed 3 out 12 Travel - none- but I did see 2 concerts last year (my goal was 3 per year) Relationship- 3 out of 13 Health- 5 out of 11 Self Help/Or help others- 1 out of 14 Professional Development- 10 out of 18 Personal- 1 out of 11 Household- 6 out of 12 So in all I have completed 30 out of 101! I'm on track, but it is clear that this year I need to focus on other areas of my life to keep it balanced. I need to spend more time focusing on my family, myself, and helping others. I am very proud that I was able to accomplish many of my professional goals; life is not work alone but the time spent with others and what you contribute to their lives.
Hopefully I'll have more of my family goals checked off soon.
I'm so glad Char had me do this; it's great to look back reflect and re-evaluate life. The pics are just moments to remember this past year...2008

Triplicate Love

Normally I blog through my mac, but my friend Charla suggested blogger- she loves it so here it goes... Let's see if I can manage blogger as well as my mac account. This will probably be the only slideshow post. I think I will post strictly pics here and slideshows on my mac blog... Hope to see you back here visiting my posts. I hope to share great work and some personal moments as well. The slideshow is of my sister's family. They actually "hired" me to do their session for the holidays. We had such fun shooting! It was a bit of a challenge given there were 3 families combined and there was always someone blinking. We made through it with some really fun shots!
